Colonel Retired Heath Niemi spent 17 of his 25 years of active duty service within Army Special Operations Aviation. While conducting countless missions working with the most elite Special Operations forces, his interests in macroeconomic influence on international markets and their potential to cause transnational friction became very focused by the impact of the Great Recession of 2008.
After years of careful study and experience he recognized the influence of global Central Banks, political machinations, and market psychology, his daily trading blog developed into an elegantly simple method called ‘Macro Trading’ to create financial gains in market sectors, commodities and currencies. Today, Strategic Stimulus gives its readers an understanding of major market movers and how to conduct day trading within a very complicated global market place to take profits in bullish or bearish environments.
Ed Basile has over 25 years experience in international derivatives markets. He started his career at the CBOT as a Pit Runner and eventually worked at Dean Witter Reynolds on the global trading desk covering markets such as the London International Financial Futures Exchange (LIFFE), the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE), and the Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE). He then moved to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) trading floor as a floor and pit broker and eventually managed trading operations at BNP Paribas, Sanwa Bank, and UBS.
Ed’s military career began on 11 September 2001 on the trading floor of the CME. His experience spans duties including filling institutional orders, managing institutional risk, pricing options contracts, leveraging volatility and developing new client relationships. During his years on the trading floor, Ed served on various equity index futures committees for the CME and gave morning television interviews for CNBC and other financial news media outlets.
